FishForums.net is proud to announce the February 2017 Tank of the Month Contest!

How do I enter?
Post one photo and/or video in this thread along with a nice detailed write-up of your tank. The write up should include a good description of your tank, water parameters, tank maintenance procedures, feeding schedules, etc.

* You must be the owner of the tank.
* Video can be uploaded to youtube, and then a link to the video may be posted in this thread.
* Only one photo will be allowed, so make it your best!
* A description is required!
* You can only win once every 3 months

This month we are going to leave this thread open for 2 weeks to give everyone plenty of time to enter. The deadline for entries is Feb 27th, 2017 at 03:00 PM EST. The winner will be selected by the FishForums.net staff and announced on the last day of the month.

can I enter then this month since I won december cause my counting is like this
december was 1st month,january 2nd,febuary 3rd

Feeding - aquacare tropical flakes & vitalis catfish pellets 4 days per week, once per day. Blood worms one day & brine shrimp one day with a day off every Sunday.

Filter maintenance - monthly take out filter sponges & swirl them in a bucket of tank water to remove any debris. Replace phosphate & nitrate pads every 2 months, 1 one week and then the next 2 weeks later

Water changes - change 40% every Saturday morning using tetra aquasafe, increase this to 60% once a month and do a thorough vacuum of all wood & ornaments for detritus lodged in gaps

Stocking -
8 various guppies
6 black fin corys
10 million Malaysian trumpet snails & pond snails
5 rogue cherry shrimp that I can't catch to separate into my species tank

Plants:
1 anubias Nana attached to a rock
Half coconut shell with Java moss
Floating crystalwort
1 crypt
1 mayaca
2 bacopa monnieri
5 Amazon swords (I think)

Water parameters
Gh - 16
Kh - 7
Ph - 7.6
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10ppm
Temp - 24 degrees Celsius

I love the tank, Have you tried a black background? You dont have to use those plastic stick on ones you can use a bit of black cloth like a bit of black bed sheet.

I hadn't thought about putting cloth back there. I dreaded the thought of trying to add a background when it weighs a ton but that's a nice idea thanks Nick
