Fish identification

Need some help. Purchased 2 fish for my wife. But i can't remember what they are. I think they are a type of new world cichlid, but not sure.

Hi it looks like an African Butterfly Cichlid to me - an African riverine species from Guinea

They are reasonably peaceful and can tollerate a wide range of parameters - they also do best in a small group

Yes, those are African Butterfly cichlids. But they are far from peaceful (personal experience). Especially the intra-species aggression is very high. (all related to their size)
