External filter help required.........

Please forgive me if there is an obvious solution..........

I have a Fluval 305 external filter which seems to have a disobedience microchip installed!

I was given my entire set up free recently, everything was working when I picked it up and moved it all to my place but no matter what I do, the filter refuses to play ball! The motor is going but no intake/output.

HELP!

I don't have externals but I have read comments about them.
Is everything set up as in the manual - tubes connected properly, filter baskets fitted correctly?
Have you opened the Aqua Stop valve (Installation and Usage #10, page EN-12)?
Did you prime the filter(Start the Filter #2, page EN-12)?

Other than these, I'm afraid I can't help.
