Hello!
Left my tank with in-laws for 10 days while on holiday and (through overlighting I believe) I ahve a load of stringy green algage attached to the tank glass, plants and rocks. I did a massive cleanup this morning, but need to know how to elminiate this algae from coming back. I believe I need to leave the lights off for a while? Is 2-3 days enough? The tank is a 45L tank and has about 4 new plants in (including 2 vallis) will these plants survive OK without any light for this duration?

Also, someone suggested placing a towel over the tank to stop any daylight coming in...should I need this?

Thanks!
