I'm just wondering whether it'd be wide to add a few Dwarf Gouramis (1 male + 2 females) to my tank; which presently contains 8 Golden Barbs.

The Barbs are fairly large and active fish and Gouramis have a reputation for being aggressive towards tank mates which are too active.

Any thoughts or experience?

What size tank is this?

I don't know much about either of these fish, but according to THIS the golden barbs are fairly peaceful. So I think it might be alright?
Hopefully someone with more experience comes along soon :)

Hi Nijou and thanks for the reply.

The tank is a 240 litre Fluval Roma.

I've had my fair share of golden barbs and in my experience they are quite peaceful. I've had them for a good couple of years and they didn't seem to grow to reach 2".

Be careful though, they are the types of fish that acquire the aggressiveness of their tankmates and for that reason should not be kept with tiger and rosy barbs so that they can remain peaceful.
