I just moved our betta to a new tank with a filter, heater, live plants, hood, and he seems pretty pumped about it :flex:

Since I have 2 plants in there, I guess I need to keep the light on for most of the day. Do bettas typically not mind the flourescent hood light? He seems happy, but I want to make sure I'm not pissing him off without realizing it.

I doubt they care, so long as you turn it off every night to let them rst a bit.

Can I just say...... it's really nice that you asked that! You are obviously a very caring owner!!
The light won't bother him as far as I know. As SRC said as long as it's not on all the time it won't so any harm as far as I'm aware!

That's cool - I thought I was going to have to get him some obnoxious fake floating lilly pad or something.

Thanks :D
Bob

You could throw some floating plants like cabomba, or anacharis in there. My betta, Fiodore, is in a 25 gallon community tank and he likes to hide in the floating plants.
