Dirty Cory Tank?

My corys tank stays clean for about a day before it's horribly dirty looking. I have a mini-might filter in it but all it seems to catch is the sinking pellets. I'm trying to figure out why the tank gets so dirty, maybe i'm feeing them too much? Maybe the filter isn't working well? Wanted to see if anyone else had this issue and how to resolve it. TIA!

water parameters? also how often do you vacuum your tank and do water changes?

Yes, we need more info.  As well as the above, can you describe what this "dirt" is?  I'm wondering if it is algae, or actual detritus?
