Hi

Just discovered a cyst on my angelfish.

It appears to be under his skin as it is the same color. Just noticed it today.

Help please!

Forgive the bad pics. Best I could do

Does the cyst feel like it filled with fluid, it could also be a tumour.
Can you issolate the fish as you don't wan't the cyst bursting in the tank.

You mean i should pick him up and feel it? won't that like hurt him?

Do you have a spare tank you can put the angel in? Don't pick the fish up and feel it.
Cysts are usually fluid filled bacterial infections or tumors, tumors unfortunatly are untreatable but thankfully not infectious, cysts on the other hand are largely untreatable but can somtimes be cured with anti internal bacterial meds.

I would start with transferring the fish to a seperate tank. Treat with an antibiotic that treats gram positive & gram negative bacteria. Add some epsom salt to the tank, start with 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons, increasing by one teaspoon per 10 gallons daily to 3 teaspoons per 10 gallons. The epsom will help it to drain through osmotic pressure. Daily 50% water changes will help with general bacteria reduction.
