So I just bought a second-hand 55 gallon aquarium with a stand and the guy I bought them from threw in a 30 gallon he wasn't using for free. The 55 looks fine, crossbar and silicone all intact. The 30 gallon however has a small chip in one of the glass faces, it appears to be about 1/16" deep. Will this make the aquarium unsafe to use? If so is there a way to repair it? I will attach pictures, ty for taking a look.

I would just cover it in silicone to be on the safe side. Then you'd be good to go.

OK ty, I think I'll just smooth it over with silicone like joebw suggested and turn the chip to the back so it isnt noticeable.

I don't think silicone would make it any safer. If it did crack or break, the silicone wouldn't do a thing.
If you're going to turn it to the back, I'd put a few well placed pieces of strong tape over it but i think it will be fine.
I've got a chip like that in my 4ft 350L tank and it's been fine
