My first post in this section of the forum, I'm hoping for a little guidance.

Basically, I have a selection of plants in my tank. But I don't know what most of them are!

Any help on what I have, how I should plant them (if you think my planting isn't very good please say so) and anything else I need to consider will be greatly appreciated.

Finally, some of the plants do not have many (if any) roots at the minute - will these develop with them just being plunged into sand?

Cheers,
Craig.

I have both of these planted as bundles together, there are about 5 plantlets(?) of the red plant, and the same of each of the grass type stuff together with plant weights sunk into the sand.

This is 3 or 4 separate plantlets sunk into the gravel.

I think the plant to the left is an Amazon Sword.
The red plant next to this getting destroyed by my 2 small plecs - each day they seem to have turned another leaf into string!
You can just about see my Java Moss on the edge - I've not decided what to do with it yet so it's just weighed under a few stones.

Again this one is planted as 5 or so plantlets bundled together.

Finally, Some really tall things that seem to be growing like mad!
Some more grass which I think I'll have to move as it's not getting much light.
And another bunch of leaves that look similar to the Amazon Swords - are they?

2 Cabomba
3 Amazon sword
4 Bacopa
Of the top of my head not confirmed.
The red plant and the tall grass like plant don't look like true aquatic, just my opinion.

#2 = #5

Also the reddish thing in #3 in the background looks non aquatic to me too.

I agree with hogan's id's
