I just got a new Top Fin 5.5 gallon tank and was wondering what you folks use to clean your tanks before adding water? Do you just use water (no soap) and wipe the insides with a sponge or do you use vinegar and water and rinse it out good?

Thanks!

New tanks can be rinsed out with fresh water and then set up. If you want to use soap, use a perfume free soap and rinse the tank really well with fresh water afterwards.

So after I peeled off most of the adhesive they use to glue the filter and light plug boxes to the inside of the tank, I used hot water to remove the rest of it. I then rinsed it out a couple of times with fresh hot water. It looks clean now.

Thanks again!
