Hi all, newbie here!

A little while back, I took on a 9" channel catifish (it had eaten all its tankmates and the tank was being emptied).

At the moment it is in a 2ft tank, but next weekend will be upgraded to 4ft and next summer hopefully will have a pond.

My question - can these guys overwinter or would it be worth looking for a home for it with someone who has a big enough indoor tank?

First question - where in the world are you, and second, if in a pond, how deep?

Oops! Sorry, forgot my location. I am in the UK, so my pond does freeze over winter - but as winters are getting milder it's freezing less each year. Barely happened last year and the ice was very thin.

The cat's pond would probably be around 2-3 feet deep and raised so it feeds into my goldfish pond.
