Does anyone know if platies, mollies or guppies can cross bread? I have some new guppies and mollies in my platy tank and I am wondering if it has been done (or if it can be done) If so, does anyone have any pictures? Thanks!

I think there's a really well documented process of a guppy - molly cross in the oddball section - a really interesting read...

The short answer is that it is possible but without viable offspring for the most part.

Platies cannot crossbreed with either mollies or guppies.

Platies can and do hybridise with swordtails.

Mollies and guppies can but do not often crossbreed, and as dc3 says the fry tend not to be viable. If you keep males and females of the same species they are less likely to breed with another species.

You will get even more help at the >livebearer< section of the board.
