Buying fish and plants online?

Was looking for opinions on getting fish and plants from an online store like live aquaria. We do not have a good pet store close to where I live. We have a petsmart but the selection is horrible.

People have been buying fish online for years, provided they're packaged well there're no reason why they shouldn't arrive in good health, plants usually fair quite well in the post.
