my plants in my 35 gallon tall hex were covered in brown algae...looked really bad.  also the glass had quite a bit on it...

went out and bought a 2 inch rubberlip pleco.  Within 3 days all the algae on the glass was gone...the pleco did a great job of devouring it.

Took out all the plants that were still covered in algae.   Performed a chlorine dip (19-1 water chlorine ratio).   Wiped each leaf with a paper towel..After 2 minutes, soaked in dechlorinated water using prime.   And here are the results.  No more algae on tank walls, and all plant leaves are vivid green.

Wish I could find the permanent cure for this.  Tried cutting light duration and increased flow in the tank.  Algae reappears in a couple weeks..    Maybe my new rubberlip pleco will also eat the algae off the leaves too and solve the issue.

Brown algae goes away after a while.
Sadly, it may be replaced by other types of algae.

Try to wait it out, if it isn't gone after a month of the onset, then you may have too much light or an imbalance in your light/co2/nutrients.
