Can someone recommend a silicone that Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, True Value etc. sells. I want to do this

http://aquarium.shuru.com/printerfriendly.htm

Does anyone know the best one to use? Thanks! =)

Please give a link on the stores website if you feel like it.

Im not sure about something that states "window and doors" on it, but I was able to pick up some aquarium safe silicon adhesive at Home Depot.

The brand name is DAP you will find it in the paint section with all the adhesives. It costs a little more, but I didn't think $5 was all that bad.

Price is not a problem (as long as it is not really high lol) But which type of DAP was it? I am fairly familar with caulk/silicone but not with what is "aquarium safe"

I assume this is it?

Does anyone know for sure if this should be aquarium safe? Its 100% silicone and not mildew resistant so should it be ok?

Will probably just break down and buy this. I know its safe for fish

If it doesn't say "suitable for aquatic use" on the tube, don't buy it. It needs to be high modulus, not low modulus.

I was too impatient to get the home depot link to open.

Here is a picture of what I bought...says "aquarium safe"

Finally got the link to open for me, and its not the same. I actually didn't even see that one while I was at the store, or I probably would have picked it up.

That looks ideal.

Thanks guys! Just wanted to make sure I got the right product. I will probably still get the Petsmart product though. Its a way better deal oz for oz.

Steer clear of that stuff from Lowes. It clearly says mildew resistant in the specs. That means it contains a poison to control mildew. You don't want that anywhere near a fish tank.

Walmart used to stock loc-tite aquarium safe silicone for under $4 in the paint dept. I don't know if they still do. It was a 4 oz. tube.
