Well, ill start from the top.
I am over 2 weeks into a fishless cycle.
I started the add and wait method, till i got nitrites, then i kept the ammonia level to 4ppm every nite.
Eventually, id get my ammonia to 4ppm (nitrites were High) then 24hrs later, ammonia would be zero (nitrites the same). For about 4 days in a row, id add 4ppm ammonia, then 24hrs later, ammonia is zero.
Nitrites always stayed pretty high. i was going to continue getting my ammonia from 0ppm to 4ppm daily, until my nitrites disappeared and my tank was cycled. But for the last 2 days, id add my ammonia to 4ppm, but the next days my ammonia hadn't dropped to 0ppm (like it had been). It only dropped to like 1ppm.
Is this normal? Is getting my ammonia from 0ppm to 4ppm daily too high, or should i only get my ammonia to 2-3ppm??
Any ideas,
Thanks, Mike
