Ada Aqua Soil?

So.. I need to change the substrate in my 72 gallon bow front. It raised the PH to high. It is startingto kill my fish. I found one SAE almsot dead this morning.

SO, how do I use ADA aqua soil? do I just use ADA or do I mix in power sand and such with it?

I see I see.. thanks.. i shall have to order some.. any knowledge of rumored ammonia spikes and such that this product causes?

I suggest 2x a week 50-75% water changes for the first month or two, that and using the old filter will resolve any and all NH4 issues.

I use ADA Aqua soil alone and dosing EI, you can go the full blown ADA route, it cost more, that's up to you.
I never liked the power sand having used it a few times and ended up replacing it with much labor.

I will probably jsut go aqua soil.. but what doe sit do the first two months that i need to replace all tat water?
