Hi there, quite simply put I have a £100 budget for a tank. There are no real requirements, though I would prefer everything to be new (though this may not be possible) it's certainly been a while since I've looked at tanks and stuff, so I'm quite lost and would appreciate any help!

Thanks

£100 everything new will be a Nano tank so about 30L.

If you go this route you'll not be able to keep many fish.

Second hand you might get lucky and get something around 100L from eBay or local paper with all the equipment.

Your £100 starting budget aside, I expect you'll find that you'll be paying £5 here, £10 there, and so on for accessories, treatments etc. I wonder if other members have a means of forecasting their annual spend on their hobby.

hahaha, cheers! What fortunate timing

Haha my 180l and stand cost me £100

But I needed to buy 2 heaters at £30
Filter at £96
Sand at £6
Plants so far about £50-60
Fish £50-60
Siphon £15
Buckets £5
Food £20
Tap safe £10
Plant foods £20
Cables and timers £20

Pretty sure there's other stuff but you get the picture :)

The reason I ask for new stuff, is because it's hard to project figures with 2nd hand gear. I'm struggling mostly to find an adequate stand, probably just a small 2ft tank really so any suggestions pointing to that would be great.

My 400 litre cost £100 inc delivery, altho second hand came with external filters, quarantine tank, air pumps, heaters, clown loaches etc etc....patience will more often then not be rewarded.

I found a lot of the larger 2nd hand tanks are sold with stands included.

Brand new, I doubt you will find a 2 footer for £100.

That does not look too bad, though no stand, might have to think about that one myself when I need a fry tank
