Thanks, guppylover86. It's a pompom crab. Very fun to keep. :)

Just read your journal about the 2.5g saltwater tank and I think it looks awesome! The little crab is too freaking cute :)

Make a new post with the information, and I shall edit the original post. Sounds really complicated, but it isn't.

Definitely not male. You need to have 10 posts to use the personal messenger. Check the swap thread in the planted section and let me know what you want in the thread. Then I'll contact you.

    About Me...

I've been in the hobby for about 23 years. I started out with the lovely 10g with bright blue gravel and the "No fishing" sign that I got for my birthday. For the last 6 years I've been into planted tanks. Here are a few of my best scapes.
Two years ago, I won an RO/DI unit at an auction at a convention I attended (Yes, I attend conventions!). With the RO unit, I could finally realize my dream to have a SW system. About time, I had been lurking in that section since 2005.

Then I went a bit crazy and started 3 SW systems at the same time! [IMG] The first was a planted Marine, "Pearls of the Antilles", a coastal Caribbean/Floridian biotope.
The tank suffered a major set back this summer when I experienced a macro bomb. The LR and sand, however, survived and this tank is currently in the CUC stage, housing some displaced nps corals, and almost ready for its first fish to be introduced.

My second system will celebrate a year on August 14. It's an 8g rimless mixed reef, with a Metal Halide. I'll often call it my "Old 8g" or the "halide pico". It has an assortment of corals, inverts, a neon dotty back and the a very large, very grey Yellow Watchman Goby. Every day, I pray that this tank doesn't mess up in some way. It's my favorite and my oldest system now.

My third system was an nps pico. Very hard and I don't recommend it to anyone with any semblance of sanity. This tank has had its ups and downs (equipment failure, tank leaks, and just the sheer difficulty of doing nps). It does have a certain charm though and housed the famous Armand, the stud of the reef. A fabulous pompom crab. And it was home to the just as famous Lemmiwinks, the panda goby. Probably the tiniest little fish anybody's ever seen. And notoriously difficult to keep alive. Again, this hobby has setbacks. This time it was human error. You have to target feed these corals. To do that you have to turn off the power heads. However, one must always remember to turn them back on... *sigh* Lost Lemmiwinks, Armand and many motile invertebrates, but the corals were spared and have been moved to other systems. I will do an nps pico again. I'm currently eyeing a Fluval Spec.
In February 2012, I decided that 3 SW tanks weren't enough, so I purchased this tricked out 8g Oceanic Biocube. It houses an assortment of named zoanthids and palythoas, and the beginnings of a gsp wall. Haha, seems three tanks were indeed enough. Not including quarantine, which I also have.
I have one planted aquarium, but it doesn't receive much attention and I'm just waiting for an opportunity to take it down and convert it to a Marine tank.

I love this hobby and I enjoy helping others as well, primarily so you can learn from my mistakes. Most of the people I help end up loads better than me in the hobby.

A bit of advice, if this hobby ever becomes not fun, stop & humanely rehome your fish. It has to be fun. You have to enjoy it.
