Just got back from a night camping and have come home to find one of my Geophagus Winemilleri upside down behind some wood. :( Gutted!! Looks like its one of my males but they are so close in size that its hard to say.

As for a cause I can only put it down to aggression, they were doing great yesterday morning when I last fed them! Ate like pigs all out in the open no hiding no sign of stress bars usual good colours and maturing to the point where their chin straps are always out.

I have had the group for about 18 months now.

I checked over the body for any signs and all I could see was a bite mark over the dorsal fin near the neck? All I can think is based on Lillys recent rampage that shes lashed out and the Geo didnt get out of the way :( I got a ruler next to him as well and he was at 20 cm (total length)

If anyone sees any large ones for sale please let me know as big as possible.... though I know its going to be hard finding them again.

I think you could be right Matt just going to exhaust one more possibility to keep her and then see what we do...

Comacchio - thankyou for that! I know who the keeper is I think, I believe it is our very own Bonzo! However its in Ireland and Im in Hulll, when I said I will travel I meant Nottingham, Manchester or maybe at a push Birmingham. But thankyou at least there are some around!!

Sorry for your loss, Wills.:rip:

Maybe worth getting some mesh to seperate Lilly off from everyone else until you can find her a good home?

thanks, I have tried a trick not sure how it will work but took her out the tank for an hour and rescaped it, it has certainly disoriented her so hoping that by gones are by gones but I know this does not always work.

Its so annoying as we are so close to moving house and a second tank just is not possible until then but there is a good chance thats been put back now as well :(

Fingers crossed the rescape helps.

Thanks guys

- Liam, it sucks, our move has been pushed back now so second tank is a way off :( If you see any Geos with black markings round their chins let me know :)

- Snowflake - yes its Lilly my Severum :(

- Bonzo - any chance you guys are coming over to the UK any time haha!!

- Kieran - Tanks a bit of a mess atm, I need a second tank to split Lilly into then it would be pretty good just devastating that we lost a Geo in the process of waiting :( Lilly has gotten quite bad but at 7 years old Im loathed to rehome her...

Current plan is to ask someone I vaguely know through a shop and a forum who has a fish room if I can rent one of their tanks for a few months. Just to keep Lilly in, that way I know she is safe and in good hands until I can get her back when we move. Not heard back from them yet though. It is a big ask though... see what he says.
