I love reef ecosystems, and in the long, long run would love to have a saltwater tank. Unfortunately, I attend weekly state boarding school so wouldn't be here in the week to look after it.

I wanted to know before I started properly researching:

Would it be possible to keep a thriving marine ecosystem if i'm only here on the weekend, and if so, how much time would it take each weekend?

How much would it cost to set up a 55 gallon FOWLR tank?

How much would this kind of tank cost to maintain monthly?

Thanks, Sam

I wouldn't like to leave a tank unattended for a week unless you can have someone trustworthy look after it while you are away.

My mum would be here to look after it, but couldn't do any serious maintenance. Could I keep a marine tank well, considering this?

Thanks, Sam
