A quick video here of my newest favourite fish, Indostomus paradoxus. These guys are awesome, halfway between a pipefish and a stickleback, and only 2.5cm long. I currently have half a dozen of them in a 30cm cube.

Had major problems with dim lighting and reflections trying to film these little dudes, one or two shots are in focus though

wow they are really nice. what conditions do the need, warm and acidic?. are they very hardy? where do they come from? they are very nice. can i ask where you got them from?

are they compatable with other fish

I've only had them a couple of days so not much of an expert, but by all accounts they're reasonably straight forward as long as you can provide very small live foods for them to eat.

They're pretty hard to get hold of, have had an importer looking out for them for a few months with no luck, then was fortunate enough to spot them in my LFS miss labelled as pipefish.

You'll want either a very mature tank with lots of microfauna or a good supply of baby brine shrimp and other minute live foods to keep them alive, I think. I would definitely recommend a species only tank for these guys.

ok thanks, do they live in groups because i have a fluval edge thts fishless and well planted

Yeah they not schooling or anything but are definitely gregarious and interact with each other. You could probably get 8-12 in an Edge, as long as you've got food for them.

Really interesting.

I would imagine these are best in "species only" set ups.
