It's silver about 9" long with massive tentacles

I know it's a pimelodus but not got a clue what

It's pretty aggressive towards cichlids though

Any markings on the fish at all or is it just a single shade of silver? I think its Pimelodus pohli? that has very little in the way of markings

Anybody elaborate on this...

All the info I can find on the pohli is 150mm max size when mine is more like 230mm

How about P. blochii? Would fit size wise and there is at least one photo that looks similar to yours (albeit your one almost looks blue photoshopped, if you know what I mean).

Another species to look at is Pimelodus albicans, in which case yours is about half its eventual size!

Both your ideas are viable, I'd really like to know what it is and I'm positive it's from the pimoladae family

He's in a 6x2x2 so he's got plenty of room :) I'll try and get a clear picture of him up showing his colours better...

Oh and he's pretty aggressive towards my geo, convict, jd and everything else but my common plec and Asian sun cat

I'd definitely say from the P.blochi complex, don't think you'll ever get an exact ID, so go with P.blochi.
