26.41 GBP to be exact... but that is excluding shipping charges.. which might be very costly.

Hi,

My first post, so hi everyone..

It was actually this thread that attracted me to the forum!! I just wanted to see if anyone else is using an IQ3 for their Betta, and how they are finding it... I have been doing some research and am just about ready to set mine up...

Any advice on changing water, cycling, or cleaning of the IQ3 would also be appreciated...

Thanks heaps!!

Do your tanks have lids?

Can you turn the light on and off independently of the filter (I have a similar tank and it's designed to have light on all day) - I'm asking as they are REALLY pretty and I'm currently looking on ebay at them :)

I think so- it says it's dimmable so you should be able to turn it off.

It doesn't look like lids are included, but you should be able to DIY something like a sheet of clear acrylic.

Yeah they dont come with a lid, but I just made a Clear PVC one that seems to be doing the job fine. And yes you can turn off the light independently or dim it if you so desire...

I thought the size of this tank would be sufficient for a single Betta...

>>Honeythorn: Do you not believe this is big enough?

They are perfectly fine for a betta, but to honeythorn. If you don;t keep them in her sized tanks your are guilty of animal cruelty.

oh... :(

Now I feel bad... Everyone has said that 2 gallons is OK for a single Betta... I obviously don't want to do the wrong thing, but I cant really fit a bigger tank on my desk at the moment...

I'm not sure what to do now.

I'm also sorry for causing a fuss... I didn't want to cause any disputes, apologies.

 at the rest.

Anyhoo.... @Lumiera;- 3G is minimum :) Although i have kept a betta in 10L, and he was fine. But tbh, they do show there personality more in bigger tanks, so id say the bigger the better. You also wont have to do that much waterchanges in un-filtered bigger tanks.

A small heater and sponge filter would be nice too, with lots of bushy plants for it to hide in.

Oh, and dont be sorry, i dont use this forum much recently due to people always 'thinking' what they do is right and what everyone else does is wrong. (not specifically directed at anyone btw, just as a whole, im talking about) :good:

As to whether you think it's big enough, ultimately that's up to you. If you think it's fine, it's not like the actual betta police are going to come to your house and hit you until you buy a bigger tank.

Nah, I know that. But I do like to know I'm doing the right thing... at the end of the day he wont be in the Vegemite jar he's in at the shop anymore, that's gotta be a good thing.
