I went to look at a couple of FS with my mum at the weekend and ended coming home with two new bettas.

I had a tank waiting for a betta already and set up (see here) but was going to order my betta online, until i came across these two boys. One of them i fell in love with straight away, he kept flaring at me (and actually hasn't stopped since, every time i go near the tank). The other one looked so miserable i had to take him too, his fins were a bit battered and he was just hiding all the time.

I already had a filter running in my main tank in case of emergencies and a spare tank in the loft. So set up a tank for the second betta. I put the miserable one in here because he had a whole 60l to feel better in and the other one in my original tank. They have now been swapped about because i think their personalities suit the tanks better.

Im going to plant this tank up more on friday when i get paid, it has got some plants in here but you cant see in pictures.

I really like the dark one (Shadow). I like dark coloured bettas, but I don't see that many around.

Shadow has settled in nicely now, his confidence has dramatically improved. Hes still yet to flare for me but i'm sure with time he will.

Haych, the plec in the top right of your sig. when did he develop the yellow colour in his fins.

Well because i have a plec of similar colouring but without the yellow, but recently he developed some yellow on his tail.

I do love the colouring on your though.

i doubt he's a nugget, could be though, i suppose. as far as i was aware they ALWAYS had the yellow edge.

i dont have him anymore though, i couldnt keep him happy
