i know elegance corals have been touchy lately for alot of people. I bought one maybe about two or three weeks ago. It was doing very well, then all of a sudden my bi-color angel decideds it tastes good. is there anything to encourage my angel to pick on something else? he just started to do this two days ago. he leaves all of my other hard and soft corals alone. am I doomed? do i have to get rid of my angel? at this point the elegance will not make it.

what would happen if i put it in my sump? it has a 65 watt p/c on it? can i still leave the lights on for 24/7 till it recovers from being picked on.

I would say you have to make a choice, one or the other.

and who's to say the bi-color won't develop a taste for something else
down the road? once a pygmy starts to pick at corals, there's not
much you can do to stop it other than remove the fish.

Imo i would get rid of the elegance before i would the fish but that is cause im not a big elegance fan. The bi colored probley started to pick at it cause it was new since the other stuff was already in the tank it had to interset in it but if its been going on for 2 days it sounds like it got a taste of it and liked it so he will most likely keep doing it till he has ate it all.

it indeed was a delicious snack for my bi-color, and an expensive one for me. it was doing so well though. anyway my bi-color is now gone, off to a new home. even though he wasnt picking on any other corals.. i didnt want to take the chance. plus as my wife calls its.. "that stupid (not exact word tongue2.gif ) michigan fish. she is an ohio state buckeye fan and the fish was blue and yellow, so she was okay that it is gone.
