hi everyone, just wondering if i can have a little advice and some opinions on new fish for my tank. i have a 3ft that holds just over 20gal and in it are 2 kribs (they are not a pair), 3 serpae tetras (i will be getting another 2 of these) and a plec. i don't know what type it is cos when i pointed out the one i wanted to the lfs guy he said they will outgrow ur tank. he showed me something smaller and said it will get to about 4 or 5 inch so i got that one instead.
i am now stuck as to what to add finally. i don't really want to add another type of shoaling fish, and would like some kind of cichlid.
please can you give me some ideas of what i could get? many thanks from kim

cockatoo cichlids are very colorfull and get about 2-3 inches long. you can get a pair of most dwarf cichlids such as these or the preiviosely mentioned rams I dont know much about orange chromides but i think u should be fine with them if thats what you want.

I'd definitely up the numbers on the Serpaes as they can be very nippy and are better in a shoal.
One problem you may have with adding cichlids is that most have long fins and may be at risk of being nipped. The other problem may be that your Kribs are a little territorial and adding other Cichlids may cause problems.
Orange Chromides, as far as I know do better in slightly brackish water and Dwarf Cichlids may not be able to stand up to your Kribs. If your tank is only 20G, then it isn't really big enough for more Cichlids as they need plenty of room.
A shoal of Danios may be ok as they are fast swimmers and shouldn't be too much of a threat to your other fish and vice versa.

hi guys thanks for the replys, when i first got the tank i didn't think deciding what to put in it would be so difficult. the dimensions of my tank are 91,31,38 (l,w,h) in cm. i think this equates to about 20 gallons.

You could, but the serpaes would be much happier in a bigger group. 5 is probably the minimum.
