Hi there everyone
I have just been given a Hydor interpet IPF2 Duo ive not seen one of these before and was wondering if they are any good for a 2ft tank? Also it says to put carbon in the top part but i thought i had read somewhere not to put carbon in tanks? i may be wrong, i usually am lol. Any advice? Thanks Eve |

Im not aware of the filter but carbon is only really needed after using meds as its soaks it up and sorts the water free of it.

Thanks Eve Hi, before the days of regular water changes etc, carbon was used more. Nowadays carbon is really only used to filter out things like water discolouration (from bogwood for instance) and medications once they have done their work. You can still use it for very fine filtration as long as you remember to replace it after a week or so otherwise anything it has filtered will start 'leaching' back into the water. Also it is NOT reusable even after rinsing. |

You could just put some filter floss in there to enhance the filter.
You can buy cheap bags of filter floss from most lfs |
