Here are a few pics of my tank and its occupants, what do you think?

Should be 8 pics, first time downloading more than 1, here goes.

OK so that didn't work, how can i show more than 1 picture at a time?

I am using 'photobucket', cheers.

go to each picture and then click on the image code for each pic and paste them over here.

When you get to photobucket, click on upload photo's unless it's already there. They recently changed it so at the bottom of the little box where it Upload Images and Video you can select for the pics to automatically upload in the size you choose. I select for mine to be reduced to 640 X 480, which is the large.

Now is where it's important to know exactly where your pics are stored on you computer and how to get there. Hit the choose files button and find your pics. Then select one and hit open. If you want more than one pic use control button and click on however many you want to upload.

After they upload, if you want to post a pic then all you have to do is click the IMG code. When you click it a little box should pop up for just a quick second that says copied. It automatically copies the code for you.

Then you go the page in forum and get to the part where you're posting your message and just hit paste. You don't have to do anything with the brackets on it or mess with the codes at all. You can always preview your post to double check that it works.

Try that and see how it goes. You may have to "play" with it for a little bit. That's what I did, is mess around. I'm still learning new features on it, but I know the basics. I hope it can help other people!!

Its most likely dried coral rock....if i'm correct lava rock would be black?

that lab sure has a mouthful...lol makes me glad I'm not a mouthbrooder laugh.gif

Also, I think you have a peacock...Aulonocara stuartgranti (Hongi Is.) maybe? is it a juvie?

Correct kj23502 it is ocean rock, bought it from local garden centre. £30 for a 25kilo bag, all different sizes and colours. I used approximately 40kilo's.

"Also, I think you have a peacock...Aulonocara stuartgranti (Hongi Is.) maybe? is it a juvie?"

Could well be a peacock, not sure. Looks very similar, and yes it is a juvie.

The last fish in the sequence is supposed to be the same as the other 3, guessing it must be the male? or female?

Any ideas, any one else?

If they are peacocks, will they be ok with the other Mbuna?, seem to have settled in really well up to now.

Regarding the 2 pregnant labs, they are no longer holding. Managed to find 4 juvies. Spotted some hiding in the holes of the rock, don't know how many they had. The rest will just have to hide until bigger.

Lol..I was just referring to the fact that sooo many fish have boring looking females... esp. peacocks. Why can't they all be exciting and fun colored???? I know nature does what it needs to do and things are like they are for a reason rolleyes.gif

Anyone else have any ideas about the fish??

Thanks everyone, am very pleased with the ocean rock although the tank has been set-up for about 3 months, have had to remove the rock 3 times to clean off excessive algae!!

Just bought 2 Bristlenose catfish and they seem to be doing a good job of cleaning up good.gif

This is my first tank, any more comments?

chuts,

The tank is an AquaStyle 980, 98X60X47cm

It is a bit smaller than most people would recommend but, have kept fish to a minimum and chose the less aggresive and smaller mbuna, i guess time will tell.

I used 25kg of coral sand and about 40kg ocean rock.

Hope this helps you a little good.gif
