Do guppies need salt?

not necessarily but they do better in hard water. Calcium and magensium can be added to increase the general hardness and this helps reduce problems with them. A small amount of sodiium chloride (salt) can be added but don't use it if there are corydoras catfish or discus in the tank.

nope i never use salt with guppies only as a treatment.
