I got a couple of Apple Snails about 3 months ago for my tropical aquarium and about 15 days ago I found a nice surprise in the top of my tank! Apple snail eggs! I didn't expect them to hatch but I thought I'd leave them there just in case. I've been taking pictures of the eggs just in case they did and today they've hatched! I've managed to count about 32 baby snails so far! They're very very tiny at the moment, only about 2mm so it's very hard to get a good picture of them at the moment as they're so small. Anyway here are the picture's I've taken...

One of the parents.

Eggs - Day 3

Eggs hatching, still some snails left to hatch. - Day 14 (today)

Baby snails, I've circled them as it's hard to see them against the sand.

Congratulations on the bambinos, you could easily sell them on Ebay for a £1 or £2 make a tidy profit.... good.gif

LOL, yeah I was thinking of doing that if I get too many for my tanks. Just done a recount and I've got about 50 now blink.gif

I have some spixi apple snails myself, and I was just wondering, if I had another similar species in my aquarium, would they be likely to cross-breed.... blink.gif

Just been helping the last few out of the eggs, thought I'd take a picture of them in my hand before I put them in. It's a bit clearer than the picture I took before. I just recounted too and there's now about 120!
