First of all hello to all I am new to the foriums.
good.gif
Ok I have had two clown loaches which I have had for about 3 years and they are the best of mates.
I relise that these fish are prone to do silly things and trust me these two are no exception, however in saying that they are doing something very strange and they are using the heater in the tank as a race track going up and down round and round the heater.
It is not attached to the side of the tank (just hangs in the back of the tank) so it bangs a bit (not the worry really).
Now they have just started to do this and they are about 6-7 cm long. They share a tank with a red tail shark 4 angels and about 10 neons/tetra's.
they are feeding on frozen blood worms.
I am about to do a water change tommorow.
Thanks shifty.gif

whats the question??
Why they are doing this?
If it is then I will answer that loaches normally do this sort of erratic repetetive swimming when they are exited about something...if you just started them on the brine shrimp then that may be why.
Sometimes they can go crazy if not getting wnough food so you need to be the judge of that.

Fish can also freak out when an "escape response" is triggered by bad water conditions so check it but I would have thought they would be frantically swimmimg all around the tank and not just round and round the heater!

Your question has pretty much been answered already, but I'd just like to say I concur with what has been said. Clown loaches are prone to doing these kind of things. Actually if I look behind me right now at my tank, they loaches are zipping all over the place, and are all excited because I just threw some brine shrimp in for them. Have fun with your fish smile.gif

God Bless,
Joshua
