Well, I was out looking in a NSLFS, as I found these;

It's been ages since I have seen Angels with colouring that is so similar to the wild form. I just couldn't resist. They are about 1.5 inches a piece, and are increadibly bold. I suspect I may have agression issues with one later though, as it has already challenged a 6 inch discus to the food rolleyes.gif

Anyhow, while I had the camera out, I got the first decent pic of my royal red discus...

I've been trying for a snap like that for weeks

What do you think?
All the best

Wow, beautiful discus and neat angels! I've been thinking of switching one of my tanks over to angels, I had a nice marble pair a while back but sold them, and have been regretting it!

its a dream to find wild angels. not something you'll see at your local shop these days. anyway, nice find on the angels. definitely not far down the generation line from the wild variants.

Well, they probably are very far down the generation line and hybrids, but the colour is very nice and natural looking smile.gif.

LOL, it was Tropical Warehouse in Wakefield. Nice little shop for livestock, but IMO dried goods there were a little over-priced, and their 40l display had about 30odd fish in it, including plecos rolleyes.gif Perhapse not the type of image to give to newbies, and for the second time I was supprised by a pet store "expert" not knowing what discus fish are sleep.gif Wouldn't take their advise or dried goods, but if you know the fish you want, they are worth a visuit for livestock. Everything was healthy, and they had about 30 of these type angels in when I visuited on Monday. good.gif

All the best
