I received some Apistogrammas in the mail today, I love these little guys. I took some pics but it was not easy since they spent most of their first day hiding and were a little stressed. Some of my specimens are very young so they are not showing much color yet, but a couple are more mature and WOW, the color is so vivid!

I'm guessing that their body color will develop as they mature which is what happened with my Bolivian Rams

First off is Apistogramma Cacatuoides "Orange Flash" The orange color is so vivid, it seems to glow!

Here is a much smaller (and less colorful) female Orange Flash:

Next is Apistogramma Cacatuoides "Triple Red", he was particularly shy, but WOW, the colors!

Next is Apistogramma Viejita "Rio Meta"

I believe this is a Apistogramma Wilhelmi which I got in error rolleyes.gif

I also have a pair of "Red Tail East" (Apistogramma Agassizi) but they are very small and keep hiding.

Well, I think they all referred to as "Cockatoo's" Here is a pic of the Wilhelmi:

Not sure but it looked like it to me?

They are is my 85 Gal. community tank. I have some other Dwarfs in there as well, German Rams and Bolivian Rams. I used to be a big fan of guppies, but I am tired of getting lousy stock, it seems like they never last. Guppy stock is not what is used to be ulnless you want to pay a boatload of money from a IFGA breeder (which I don't). I will slowly convert my tank over to strickly dwarf cihlids I think. Some of them have really interesting personalities.

The tank is set up to have an Amazon look, here is a pic:

i just got a large mixed group of 30 of these yesterday.
LFS was clsoing for a week, so they were only 1quid each.
I got Apistogramma Cacatuoides + Apistogramma Viejita "Rio Meta".
They are an interesting addition to the tank as bottom dwellers.
Very interesting to watch them fight for dominance and the best spots in the rocks and caves.

I have yet to see any LFS carry them (around here anyway), that's why I had to order them online.
