Do you have the scientific name? I think some of these would look good in it: ![]() Pseudotropheus Crabro... get about 7" long ![]() This is a male pundamilia nyererei. Get only one male and he will display bright colors. Females tend to be boring/plain, but you could get 2-3(I think having a couple females around will entice the male to stay brightly colored). ![]() Metrialcima Greshakei There's a few examples for you. What exactly are you looking for? |

You've got quite a few species you could put in a 100 gal, though you are somewhat limited with having the m.auratus in. Before I make suggestions though, is there any change you could post a pic of the yellow hap so we can id? How old are the auratus, and have they shown any aggression?
Then we'll also need to know what direction you want to go, more haps or mbuna, and what species can you source locally? |

Sorry the yellows are Labidochromis Caeruleus and no havent seen any aggression from the m.auratus They just play around the rocks. |

If you want others you may have to rehome the auratus. Or if they start changing colors, i.e. turning brown, get rid of the ones that turn brownish and keep the yellowish ones. the browns are the males. you could see if that works to help minimize aggression. If not, prepare to rehome them if you want other species. *well i suppose there could be enough room in the tank that there are no squabbles yet. I imagine that could change as fish are added. *nevermind about the age...just saw they're 3 years This post has been edited by kj23502: May 21 2008, 12:16 PM |

Please when you reply, type your info underneath (outside)of the [quote] tags. It makes it a lot easier for us to tell what's new and the old comments. Thanks
A 30 gallon probably won't work w/auratas, since they can get very territorial and there probably won't be enough territory or room for them to "run" from the attacker. If you don't want them in your big tank and have no other tanks that are suitable for that species, then see if your LFS will take them. Sometimes they'll even buy them from you. |
