HELP! My tank has been going along fine for a couple of months and now all of a sudden is taking on a greenish tinge?? Any ideas why? An apple snail appears to have died - all thats left is the shell.. I assume the fish have eaten it or has it rotted away and made my water go green!! I have done a water change. Any more suggestions??

HELLO and welcome firstly ok waters gone green this is usually an algae bloom brought on by sunlight, is the tank located near the window? water change 25% and try to put filter wool if possible into your filter this will polish the water!!! make sure you keep up with the water changes frequently if it doesnt get any better you can buy a liquid from local fish shops called green away, just make sure you read bottle first it will clump it all together<i have used this before>but wouldnt reccomend using all the time |

Have done a 25% water change and rinsed my filter sponge in the old tank water. Where does the filter wool go?? |
