Hi all,

After a week of consideration, I decided to get a female betta who I named Pearl smile.gif Shes currently in my 2.5 gallon tank. I know female bettas can be kept together. How many other females can I put into her tank? She looks really lonely sad.gif Also, what it your opinion on putting her with a goldfish?

Thanks!

Errrrm, not an expert but I wouldnt wanna put many more females in just a 2.5 gallon, thats a pretty small tank. I wouldnt have any more than one fish in there.

And definitly not a goldfish. not only do goldfish require much more than 2.5 gallons, I'm talking more than 10x more space, they are coldwater fish, bettas are tropical, so they need different temperatures....

You need 4-5 females bettas together, you could not have them in that size tank, itd need to be at least 4x bigger i think.

I honestly think even 5 gallons would be 2 small for 4 fish, but other people will know better.

I think that is a good set up - if it's well planted and well filtered I think 4 girls in a 5 gallon is really fine.

Bettas are so addictive! I cant wait for tomorrow to go get more girlies. I feel like I got bit by the betta bug again... This happened three years ago and I feel it coming on again... May have to get a male too.. smile.gif
