New Zealand whites or British giants are the biggest bunnies you get. They can grow to over 10kg and are pretty pleasant natured critters. They are grown as food rabbits but make nice pets due to the amount of domestication they have had.
If you get a boy bunny get it sterilised. And if you have mosquitoes and flies around the area make sure the rabbit hutch is covered in fly screen to protect the bunnies from these insect pests. Mozzies can carry myxomatosis and flies can carry calicivirus, both of which will kill the rabbits if they catch it. |

I haven't had a giant bunny, but I have had a rabbit before. She was a lot of fun. In case you haven't had bunnies befor; their diet should consist of both veggies and pelleted food. I would also reccomend keeping them inside. The cage doesn't get stinky as long as you clean it regularly. They can also be little traned. My rabbit learned to use her box faster than my dogs leaned to bark at the door.

My sister has a British Giant and he is great, very demanding ! He needs a large arc rather than hutch as has so much energy and loves running around the house, i would not recommend it if you want a bunny for small children to carry around - Bugs loves sitting next to you for a cuddle but due to his size it can be tricky moving him without getting scratched !
He has a very confident temperment and happily walks up to you and nudges for a fuss and he regularly bullies my chihuahua ! hope this helps ! |

I've got a flemish Giant rabbit called Harold Almighty (don't ask) she's lovely and very gentle, she lives with my other two 'normal' size rabbits in a very large hutch and run. they need a lot of head room as they need space to stand up and stretch and can be more than 3ft high when they stand on their back legs. she eats LOADS and is the size of a small dog, about 8kg and still growing

I have a flemish giant named stormie, he is 16 pounds, my cat is 9 pounds and they are best friends. He has a great personality, loves to cuddle and beg for treats.
