Hi
I have a 110 gallon tank, its established, with angel fish, neons, rainbow fish and eels. sadly my large common pleco recently died of old age and since hes gone I have plenty of algea, Can anyone sugest a replacement, I have seen the golden nugget plecos, ones with white spots, clown plecos and I love the zebra plecos but I don't know much about them. I would like a hardy one that will make it home from the LFS, I would prefer a smaller one Up to 15 cm. The swimming area is about 3 foot by 1.5 foot and 2 foot tall. Unless theres another peaceful algea eater out there for me, (I'm still sad about my old plec) Thank you |

how about 2 or 3 ancistrus. they stay smallish very active and very easy to feed as anything veggy they will devour. plus they may breed as I believe they do so quite easily

Hi!
I would suggest Ancistrus too! I have 3 of them in 170 litres and there are no algae at all... Here's a little info about them: http://diszhal.info//english/catfishes/en_..._temminckii.php |

If you want to reduce algae, then definitely some common bristlenoses. Perhaps a group of 3 females and one male. Don't get more than 2 males as they can be quite territorial.

I have one ancistrus that is out and about all the time and also have two rubbernose plecs(pitbull) that are active and stay small. A posse of them would be great!!

Hello,
I got a bristle nose hes 4 inches long!. he is very active and has cleaned a teracota pipe already and he's enjoying the bog wood. I wanted to get some females but he was the last one apart from babies which didn't have any bristles so knowing my luck I would have got all males by accident. |
