i just had mine breed.
and from what I have experienced I would change everything I have done get a seperate small tank with an airstone/sponge filter remove the eggs into there... to get them off the glass use a credit card and any eggs that remain white after 3days (roughly) remove as they are infentile and also any eggs with fungus on them remove and wait when born feed VERY small food to them |

Ya, that's about the size of it.
Your second tank should have a bare glass bottom and you need to clean the 'crap' from the bottom every day using an air hose as a siphon. Siphon into a white bucket 'just in case' you scoop up some fry; they're easy to spot in the white bucket. Wait a couple of days before you start feeding, until after they absorb their egg sacs. Other ppl put the eggs into a net attached to or floating in the tank. Apparently it requires less cleaning. I've tried it twice now but got 0 eggs to hatch (I don't think it's the net's fault). In fact I just put about 10 more eggs in tonight. Time will tell. Cleanliness is important here. Cheers. |
