You'll need plenty of shells for your brevis to set up territories, 3 shells per fish is usually good, you can use escargot shells found at any fine foods seller. They also need a higher PH and hard water, and since they stay at the bottom of the tank, you could add a couple of smaller Lake Tanganikya fish for the top. Check with the folks in Old World Cichlids for suggestions.
Before adding any fish I highly recommend fishless cycling your tank. Here are some articles on cycling and other beginner stuff. As well as info on l.brevis. If you have any questions that aren't answered by the links, feel free to ask. http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/n_brevis.php http://www.fishforums.net/content/New-to-t...shless-Cycling/ http://www.fishforums.net/content/Tropical...s-US-UK-Canada/ http://www.fishforums.net/content/New-to-t...ly-Maintenance/ http://www.fishforums.net/content/Tropical...sis-of-results/ http://www.fishforums.net/content/Tropical...uide-and-fixes/ |
