I have 2 senegal bichirs for about 2 years now and they are starting to act wierd.
one of the bichir has grown a fat anal fin like a leaf and there other ones anal fin is small and there both the same size. The one with a leaf like tail which i read is a male it started digging in the gravel under my tank decor. He always follows the other bichir around. why? Is he trying to breed with her? to busy right now at the moment for bichir babies. but i have no where else to put them so if the do lay eggs i'll let all of you know right away!

Fat spade shaped anal fin is the male, the thinner anal fin is the female.

yes i know how to tell the difference from male and female bichirs.
right now the bichirs are doing great with my jardini and parrots!
jardini rarly bother the bichirs only once in a long while when theres nothing for the jardini to do. hehe
right now my jardini is 4 1/2 in and the bichirs are 7 in.
both my bichirs has been train to accept pellets.
bichirs tend to grow slower on pellets then live food.
