I am interested in trying some of these snails in my "BW" tank, however I don't really want as many as it takes to place an order. Does anyone have 10 or so that they would be willing to part with/sell to me? Or, does anyone know a place where I can get/place a smaller order? Thanks

The Olive nerite is available seemingly everywhere - ebay, aquabid, liveaquaria, etc. You'll have to look harder if you want a different species.

Everywhere I have been online, requires minimum purchases in both #'s and in money. I do not want that many, nor do I want to spend that much money. I would like them, and is anyone has some extra or is breeding them, I will pay shipping and pay for the snails.

Where is "everywhere"? Liveaquaria doesn't require a minimal purchase, nor would ebay and aquabid sellers.

I was able to find and buy a batch of 6 of them off of ebay. After a few months, I had to get rid of them... they laid their eggs everywhere... on the glass, on all my rocks and slate, and you have to scrape very hard to get them off. But I guess in brackish (as opposed to freshwater), they should be able to hatch.

Sorry I don't have any to give you; that was over a year ago.

I checked Liveaquaria and they have a 29.99 minimum order and a $40 shipping charge.
None on EBAY.
None on Aquabid

A search for "nerites" on Aquabid bought up four results for the Olive nerite. Look closer.

You can also try Franksaquarium, but I think he sells it for like $3 a piece.

Or maybe see if anyone is willing to wild-collect or get them from a local LFS for you?

I will try that.

It would be nice if someone had some that was willing to sell/send to me!

Ok I went to aquabid and found some and ordered them. Thank you for that suggestion!!!!

Now I just have one more question...

They are currently being kept in freshwater. How long should I take to convert them to brackish 1.012?

Honestly the cost of driving to and from Canaveral would have been more than what I bought them for!!! I am interested in going there at some point in time though to maybe collect a brittle star or two!!! I will wait till family comes in and is already planning a day over there! What all have you collected there just out of curiosity, and do you have pics I can see?

Thanks

Thanks...
I really like those, very cool.
I though I had read somewhere that you also have a brittle star of some sort that you got from there as well???
Where do you go to look for/collect them?
I know you said Canaverl, but can you give me a specific location/area?
Thanks
Scott
