The problem with common names for fish:
QUOTE Schooling Bumblebee Goby Brachygobius aggregatus Reaches a total length of only 0.6"! Unlike other bumblebee gobies, this one is fairly social towards conspecifics. They also school. These are a true freshwater goby, although they will tolerate low-end brackish water without trouble. QUOTE Burmese Bumblebee Goby Brachygobius xanthomelas Reaches 0.8" TL. A true freshwater goby. QUOTE Asian Bumblebee Catfish Pseudomystus siamensis Appears to prefer acidic, softer water but is truly hardy and adaptable in captivity. Which one do you mean? |

Hi, there.
I have a fuly grown asian bumble bee (He's 7 inches) and he is very aggressive indeed. He is housed alone, in a darkened dank with plenty of bogwood and overhanging plastic plants. He's a lovely. active intelligent fish, but far too territorial for a community (in my opinion) he battered my hoplos when they were prettymuch fully grown, and he wasnt! There are at least 3 species of bumblebee catfish commonly available in the hobby. The smallest gets to about 3 inches, theres the asian which gets to about 7 and another version which gets to around 10 or so. |
