Wow! This is the first time I've actually seen pics of anyone else's. In my area they passed through the LFS as a strange one-off and nobody knew what to do with them. Mine never leaves his little cave except to chase off my Brochis splendens when they get to nosey. Does yours not have a cave/other hiding spot, or is it just out and about by choice?



I've had mine for about a year now I think in fw and seen no troubles. It's grown about 1/2" in that time, probably at max size now. I thought it had died for 4 months out of that time because I had temporarily taken its cave ornament away and it must have gone to live in the UGF...no clue what it was eating down there but the I did some major tank overhauling during that time and the water got really awful a few times as I was redoing it because I thought there were no fish in it. The blenny reappeared the day after I put its favorite ornament back in and has been going strong since.

They all have their own hiding places in the wood I drilled holes for them they each keep to their own hideout. They come out looking for food and chase each other, they can move very fast when they want, I have four of them now, they dont go far from cover and but cruise through the 'grass'. I think one is female, yeah they have grown a bit since I got them. They are with lots of little active fish maybe that gives them courage. Good to know yours are doing well in fresh too. They are wonderful little fish they should be more common in the hobby. I am hoping they will spawn as I could find no reports of them spawning. The place I got them didn't have a name for them either.

This is the smallest one, I put the snails in so that they would produce and provide food for the blennies, they will attack the big ones but cant eat them,

Heh I don't think you could 'overload' us with pics if you tried. The sharpness and detail in them is astounding, and I love that they all seem to show something almost special about the animal - the small things that you may not even be able to apreciate even with your eyes. Like those crazy eyes, mouth and fin structure.

Tokis I use a canon D400 with a 60mm macro lens and overhead flash that I got recently which really adds to the detail possible in small fish, I have a basic photoshop programme too. The photography has become almost as much a hobby as the fish so I get a lot of practice.
