Well I got another forum stumped with this question. It seems to be split, half seem to think it's a saddleback the other half Ocellaris Clownfish. I'd like to know what kind of clownfish this little guy is, so maybe I can get it a friend. He/she came with the tank and is doing quite well (he ate mysis shrimp on the 2nd day).
Here's a picture of the little lady (at least i assume its a lady. Its been housed as the only clownfish in a 14 gallon biocube). The fish is at least a year old. ![]() |

I think it's a saddleback because of the shape of the fish, especially the second white bar. Very nice either way.

I agree with Lynden, for a few reasons (and no, not just beacuse its professor Lynden
The colouration on the tip is yellow. I have black and white ocellaris and although they are a lot lighter in colour than the false perc I have too, they are still visibly orange and definitely not as yellow as the one you have pictured. The shape, as Lynden also points out, lends itself to being a saddleback. If you look. it has a stubbier snout when compared to the ocellaris. The 2nd stripe is litearally a stripe on yours, whereas the oscellaris tends to have a notched/boomerang stripe which doesn't extend onto the dorsal fin either, as yours does. |

Agree with all of the above, AND, the eyes look like saddlebacks. Ocellaris clowns have much smaller and different shaped eyes.

Ah, I see what your looking at. Its not the white stripe, but the black stripe. Silly me.
So the only other friend/mate I can get it is another saddleback, correct? |

Get him a friend, but make sure the new guy is much smaller.
