I think they're very cool if not my favorites.
I like Peppered Corys because I had some and they were actually quite cute, which is hard for a fish. |

Sorry for the obscure reply, but the question is fairly subjective so for comparison purposes who is the epitomy of cool?
Ie; To what level of cool are we aspiring? The Fonz? Yoda? Mr. T? Beatrix Kato? Darth Vader? John Shaft? |

Hmm....
Depends on the bottom dweller. IME there are quite a few who look fairly different, so for the ones i keep, based on the now patented -germ- Cool Index (or GCI); Hillstream Loaches = Yoda cool; Interesting looking, cute with an edge and all around a little different. Parotocinclus = Mr T cool; Tough looking, serious and seriously cool. Otocinclus = The Fonz cool; Pretty average looking but not without their old fashioned charm. Panaque Maccus = Beatrix Kato cool; Gorgeous looking with interesting behaviour, but i don't see enough of them. Are you looking at buying a Bottom Dweller yourself or just getting opinions? I think corys are exceptionally cool!
 They come in a nice variety of colors, sizes and to some degree shapes, but they are all schooling fish that are most friendly, and great additions to anyone's peaceful community tank. How could you resist beauties like these C. pandas:  Yes, the tiny ones are corys too! (C. pygmaeus) Or this black C. schultzei:  Or this bronze C. aeneus, that is quite often found in the lfs:  Here are some of the big guys. C. narcissus is the one with the stripe. The other is actually a close relative to corys, a Brochis multiradiatus.
