just filled my new tank with playsand substrate, i think it ranges from 1" - 2" deep, is this too much? i know in a plant free tank it should be not as deep and a fully planted tank it would be ok, but what about in a simple community tank with a reasonable number of live plants? i'm planning on adding some kuhli loach and malaysian trumpet snails to keep it stirred up (are the two compatible or will the loach eat the snails?)
will this be ok or do i need to take some out? the reason i have it this deep is, as i said, i wish to have some live plants so need a decent depth for the roots to anchor into thanks JC |
