HI there,
I need some advice, please.
I have recently added 2 female and 1 male swordtails to my aquarium. One of the females had a white spot on her back. I am not sure if it was there from the day one, probably not. Anyway, the spot seems to have burst and there is a red lesion where the spot was. I recently treated my tank with a medication which supposed to get rid of all sorts of stuff, but the white spot survived. All my other fish are ok. No spots, no red lesions.
Not sure what to do. Are my other fish in danger?
Any suggestions? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot for this info. I am going to start treating the tank with wide spectrum treatment I got from LFS.

I had the same problem with my Swordtails. I introduced 2 red Velvet. They were fine at the begining but later on they both developed 2 white spots at their back near the dorsal fin. I took them back and returned it to the LFS. They were the last pair available in the LFS when I bought them. Therefore I thought that they had the problem from the begining. LFS took them back. But after that I am not getting enough confidence to buy the Red Swordtails again. Now I see the problem with other people as well.
Please let us know how it goes with you. If everything gets fine with you, I will again get a pair of Red Velvet.
Good Luck. good.gif
